The original kilpin.org.uk website was set up over 10 years ago as a basic HTML webpage.

I was still at college at the time, back in 1999, and I though that it was a great way to, in the real world, practice what I was being taught. I though to my self "whats the point in learning to program a 'hello world' webpage, why not learn the more advance stuff and sell myself" (though not sell myself in the same way a "Lady of the night" would sell themselves!

So, kilpin.org.uk was born.

Over time the site has been used as a tool to sell products, and most recently I have been experimenting with different programming languages & content management systems to display my photography (which will re-apear soon in the 'Gallery 039; pages).

Current projects that I am working on are :-

• To integrate Gallery 2 into Joomla; This project is now complete. Click the 'Gallery' tab above to see for your self.
• Have a basic shop to sell a small selection of my photographs on;
• Integrate my family tree into the site; - This has now been done with the help of a nifty bit of code called 'PHPgedView' which, basically, displays your .GED family tree file in to webpages. I found this software very useful as I had a fairly large family tree file which I was unable to as I could not find any decent software for my Apple Mac. As the mac has web server functionality  built in by default, I though i would give this a go and liked it so much I installed it on my site. Whats left to do now is to tidy up the display of the date. Click the 'Family Tree' tab at the top of the page to view.

• In the future I would like to run a digital weather station, so some how would like to publish data collected to the website also.
• Another project that I hope to start soon is to con vert my old LCD monitor in to a Touch Screen monitor.

Update

I have now integrated the gallery in to the site and think that it is working well. I have now moved on to developing my family tree pages. Next project is to integrate the family tree pages. I have provided a link, but will be spending some time altering the layouts over the next few weeks.
